Ok, so now that I have consistently broken the #1 rule in blogging--CONSISTENT UPDATES--I am finally going to bring you up to date after about 6 weeks of near silence (I say near silence because Tweets do count for something, right? And since I've mentioned Twitter, if you have an account, you can now follow both Nicol and I... she signed up a few weeks ago!).

Here's what I want to share for now:

--The big news, of course, is that we FINALLY closed on the house... as of Feb 19 we are no longer home owners!! What a relief and a what kind answer to prayer. I am still amazed that, after 16 months on the market, we got our first and only formal offer... in DECEMBER of all times. Homes don't usually sell in December, let alone in the current market!! But we are so grateful that ours did!!

--We would appreciate prayer as we consider our next steps. At this point it appears that there are 2 scenarios on the table: one, begin looking seriously for a house and to sort of hunker down here in the Nashville area; two, accept a proposal from my long-time friend and mentor to go to Maine and serve with him (for the summer months or perhaps a bit longer) at the church he has pastored for the past 15 years or so.

I am reminded that a third scenario is also on the table: that being anything that God may unexpectedly drop into our laps.

In any case, we are praying and processing and waiting and would be grateful for your prayers should God put us on your hearts in this way.

I've been faithfully checking your blog for an update, praying for you as the Lord lays your family on my heart. Glad to hear of the closing on your house, and excited to hear where the Lord leads you next!

Hi Greg! Choices, choices... will pray that God will lay on your heart the path that is right for you and Nicol at this point. I'm sure your family in Maine is hoping that this is where God wants you!!

I've been thinking of you guys a lot lately. Knowing that Luke's birthday is tomorrow, I will be praying for you both as I'm sure it will be a difficult day.

Thanks for the update and pray God's Blessings to you and your beautiful family!!!

Love in Christ,

Rejoicing in your home sale! I opt for Maine. =) I've always wanted to go there -- it must be beautiful! But then again, God's the one in charge, but I still like Maine! :)

Greg, I'm praying for you and Nicol today. Remembering sweet Luke. I hope you feel God's peace and comfort in a special way.

I am thinking of you all today. I was just sitting here going through the blogs I like to keep up on and I havent been checking yours as frequently because you dont write that often--sorry. But I was thinking today I need to check on you and couldnt remember when Luke's birthday was. I knew it was in March, close to my own. And well I see that its today the 17th. I am thinking of you and Nicol and I pray you were able to embrace the memories of your beautiful son today!

I've written your names in my prayer book and will join these faithful others in asking the Lord to both comfort your grieving hearts and to reveal those next steps. And of course I think of y'all every time I see the water-wrinkled pages in my Bible..Haha! (Just pickin' at you. It's how I roll..)

We've been in ministry limbo several times so we know all too well how it feels to look for God to show up in every bible reading, phone conversation and/or email with explicit instructions on what to do next. He's never failed to show yet. Praying for your sakes His revelation will both comes quickly and unmistakeably.

Much love to your family!

Well, I'm sure I don't need to tell you that I'm hoping God wants you back in Maine! Love you, Sis

Praying for you, Nicol and Summer and the path God will lead you too. Selfishly - I hope you stay in Franklin and Maine sounds like a wonderful opportunity too.
