Ex1615 : Bread For A Wanderer

Psalm 86:3-7
Be gracious to me, O Lord,
for to you do I cry all the day.
Gladden the soul of your servant,
for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
listen to my plea for grace.
In the day of my trouble I call upon you,
for you answer me.

Greg,
I was reading in Psalm 77 where the key thoughts are to remember. In the second verse "he sought the Lord in the day of my trouble". Then in verse 6 he says" I call to remembrance my song in the night". Truly He is a God who wants us to remember His fragrance. I remember the story of a man who went to the Balkan Mountains and found the rich fragrance of roses and that most of the world's supply of rose oil comes from that area. But the significance of that is that the roses are picked from 1:00AM to 2:00AM, the darkest hours of the night. Ans so it is with God that I remember His fragrance in the darkest of times.
God Bless you son...Dad

I come to your blog every day...looking for scripture...
I am the one who wrote earlier about attending a local BSF class and hearing that the bible is God's Word...
Can I ask you a ?...Why do you believe that all of this is true?
I am sorry I don't want to be rude..but again I think that you come from a place of pain and this all seems so real to you...so, the ? that comes up for me...is why do you believe it is true??
Thanks for you time...and for sharing your story...

Psalm 61:1-3 (ESV)

1 Hear my cry, O God,
listen to my prayer;
2 from the end of the earth I call to
you when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I,
3 for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.

Love,
Sis

To my anonymous friend...

I want to respond to your questions but somehow don't feel as though a post is the appropriate way to do so. I don't have any way of contacting you, so if you are comfortable with this, please feel free to email me anytime at sponbergfamily@gmail.com. I would like to share more of my (our) story with you and help you in any way I can.

No pressure whatsoever.

Thanks so much for writing!

I've been reading the life of David and all his struggles and trials. Then I read the words of the Psalms and I know that God understands my thoughts and feelings even if I do not. GOD called David a man after his own heart. It humbles me and gives me hope and increases my faith. Greg and Nicol be blessed. IN God's Love, sheila

"I touched the heart of God in prayer, I lingered in His presence there, I lost my heavy load of care, When in prayer I touched the heart of God."

"Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need you to help us find our way. Gentle Shepherd, come and feed us, for we need your strength from day to day. There's no other we can turn to who can help us face another day-- Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need you to help us find our way."

"Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong; they are weak, but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me; Yes, Jesus loves me; Yes, Jesus loves me--the Bible tells me so."

"Saviour like a Shepherd lead us, Much we need Thy tender care; In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, For our use Thy folds prepare. Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, hear oh hear us when we pray; Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, hear oh hear us when we pray."

"You have the earth and the sky in your command, Lord, Oh! Please keep your precious hand on me."

"I know not what of good or ill May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see.
But I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I've committed Unto Him against that day."

"There is a place of comfort sweet, Near to the heart of God, A place where we our Saviour meet, Near to the heart of God.
There is a place of full release, Near to the heart of God, A place where all is joy and peace, Near to the heart of God.
O Jesus, Blest Redeemer, Sent from the heart of God, Hold us, who wait before Thee, Near to the heart of God."

"Pressing my tear-stained cheek to His own, Hushing my grief with His sweet gentle tone; Touching my heart with His healing balms, Holding me still in his mighty arms. Oh! what wonderful, wonderful rest! Trusting completely in Jesus I'm blest; Sweetly He comforts and shields from alarms, Holding me safe in His mighty arms."

"GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS, LORD UNTO ME."

Today is May 27, and I read on Angie's twitter page that today is the one year anniversary of Luke going home to Jesus. Every time since last May 27, that I hear Nicole sing on one of my Selah CDs I've lifted your family up in prayer. Honestly, I can barely listen without sobbing. I am so sorry for your loss and I'll be praying for you guys so much tonight and in the days to come. May God remain ever near.
