Psalm 78

Of all the things that may concern us today, none are more significant than THIS. The "things" to which I referred, the stuff we all see on cable news programs and hear on talk radio, are not much more than a smokescreen, a distraction. THIS is the ultimate, the one lasting reality.

The real crisis regarding the future of our country, our communities, our families... our church? THIS speaks to the answer to that question.

78:1 Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
incline your ears to the words of my mouth!
I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings from of old,
things that we have heard and known,
that our fathers have told us.
We will not hide them from their children,
but tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the
Lord, and his might,
and the wonders that he has done.

He established a testimony in Jacob
and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach to their children,
that the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God,
but keep his commandments;
and that they should not be like their fathers,
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation whose heart was not steadfast,
whose spirit was not faithful to God.

Thank you for this..I want you to know that I check your blog often. I do not believe in this person you call "Savior" but the fact that you can still praise his name after what you have been through, brings me back to your blog. I started going to a bilbe study called BSF..and they talk about this "Savior"....I appreciate the verses from the bible...because the teacher at BSF says that these are God's words????? If someone can lose a child ( two children ) and still praise this God...well, it causes me to investigate his word...so thank you

Oh how I do not want to be like my previous generation (in my family, a generation that did - and does not - know Him). I want so badly to have a faithful and steadfast heart for God.

Thanks for sharing.

Wow... I to love your blogs (and Angie's to, tell her we miss her)! but the first post above... wow! Isnt that what we, as Christians strive for? To be a lighthouse to those that don't believe? So to your "anonymous" friend, I'm praying for you! It sounds like though you don't "believe" in our Savior and King, you are striving to know more.... so for that, may God Bless you!

Hugs to you both!
Dawn

Just a "stranger"...passing through and checking back often...praying for another "stranger" and his family. May the Father's presence be so real to you today. Thank you for your testimony and for sharing the little light that you were given for such a short time. His little light is being used by the LIGHT of the World to shine very very bright!
