Update & A Summer Funny

The house... no offer(s)... another showing last Thursday... the couple liked it but that's all we know... grrrrrrr... anyone else find that rejoicing and giving thanks in situations like this is not easy and that waiting is REALLY hard work? We have much to be thankful for nonetheless.

Summer... Nicol has been doing the Dr. Colbert detox diet for the past couple of weeks... and she feels great. She lost 6 pounds in the first 10 days or so. She has much greater discipline than me when it comes to stuff like that... she can't have sugar, dairy, red meat, caffeine, etc. and is limited to whole grains, nuts, fruits, vegetables, organic chicken... not bad actually, but I would struggle to give up coffee and heck, it's summer, so who wants to stay away from ice cream? (Actually, one of my favorite "can haves" on the diet is Ezekiel bread. Anyone had it? It's VERY good. As you can see, I sort of pick and choose on this stuff. I'll eat the Ezekiel bread AND have my chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream from Ben and Jerry's thank you very much. My philosophy is that it's all about balance.) Anyway, the other day Summer heard Nicol say that she had lost 6 pounds, and what was her response? "That's okay Mommy, I can help you find them."

I'm with you; I would have a hard time giving up my comfort foods. Coffee, chocolate, cookies! I'd be in big trouble should I need to.

In fact, I'm going to go eat a brownie right now!

I noticed Ben and Jerry's is a favorite--they actually support some questionable organizations, just as the Pepsi comapny does, so boycott overload for me!

How cute! I've been trying to eat at least one raw meal a day, and do feel so much better and have less sugar cravings. Ice cream isn't that amazing in Bolivia (no Ben & Jerry...so sad), but fruits and vegetables are cheap and abundant even though it's currently winter!

I think a diet like that would REALLY help me, but I am the same as you! I have self-control when it comes to food, and it's a miracle that I'm not 400lbs with the way I eat. I wish I could do what she's doing!

The fact that you have a steady stream of showings is very good. That means that you are in an area where people are looking, and your asking price isn’t way out there. It only takes one of them to prefer your house over others they see. It will happen.

Yup, I eat Ezekiel Bread. It's the only kind of bread I eat now, since the doctor said I was pre-diabetic. Give up comfort foods? Well, it's a matter of what you term comfort foods! I learned to change what is in that category. When you feel good, it's worth a WHOLE LOT.
