Classic Summer

Yesterday we were backing out of our parking spot after lunch when Summer noticed this rather dirty pick-up truck.

So, what do you suppose our imaginative little one's question was? Well, I won't waste your time... you'd never guess it anyway.

Here ya go:

"Is that - (long pause) - peanut butter on that car?"

Of course. [ :-) ]

Sorry, I know these stories may get a little old for some, but they are priceless to me.

LOL, peanut butter, that is a good one. Where do their mind's get that? My 1.5 yr old shortens all his words. Peanut Butter has now become 'but'. Yep, that is a great one; he'll stand in the kitchen yelling 'but' for some peanut butter on a spoon. The other day I gave him some crackers w/ pb and some fruit. His sister grabbed some of his fruit in which he thought it was his pb and began yelling 'MY BUT, MY BUT...' Really it was just too funny. Keep the stories coming they really do lighten the day. In God's Love, sheila

What an adorable story! It does kind of look like peanut butter, doesn't it? It was great to have a picture to see what she was seeing!

I wrote about a special story in my blog today. You may get a kick out of it.

They don't get old! They're hilarious. She's so funny, and it's great that you're writing them down...it's the kind of thing you probably wouldn't remember next year, so you'll be glad you did.

How funny! Little kids are blessed with thoughts that us adults no longer get! I love the image of a big truck splashing through peanut butter, of all things! Thanks for sharing, it made me laugh out loud this morning!

How adorable! These are the times that one might wish for little ones to stay young. The things they think of are absolutely priceless.

The stories never get old....children are always a blessing and what joy they give to us!! I wish I had written down more of the things my kids said, although I remember the "big" ones....I know there were so many more cute little ones....I pray for you and your entire family...and I thank God for the joy HE shares with you through your own little blessing called Summer!

That is great...my 3 year old started crying when her babysitter said she wanted to paint her toes hot pink...Caroline thought it would burn her! :)

That was quite funny. I think everyone can appreciate the "insights" that kids offer us in life :) Keep them coming!

Summer sayings do not get old; she is just priceless. I LOVED this story! Reminds me of my 21 month old niece, the most verbal of my 3 toddler nieces, whose newest words are "Hosanna" and "Hallelujah" and you just never know when she's going to yell them... at some unusual moments, like adults talking about cars breaking down and lots of money to fix them!

I am remembering that Luke's birthday is in the middle of this month sometime... I am praying for you & Nicole through this difficult milestone.

As an elementary guest teacher, I hear these kinds things all the time. They make me laugh. Write them down and the where you were and how it came about. Summer will look at them one day and laugh herself.

Greg,
I just stumbled upon your blog via Bring the Rain, and was reading through your previous posts. I was in shock when I read one of your Thanksgiving blogs about your sisters church, Presque Isle Wesleyan in Maine. I know one of the pastors there...he was my youth pastor when I was in high school. I just thought it was a small world that of all the churches in Maine, it woudl be the same one. How cool. Anyway, thank you for your story and your openness about your loss and your life in general. Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted to let you both know that I am thinking of you, especially these days as they will be very difficult!! I will be praying for peace and grace for you both!!

Certainly praying for God's strength and peace to be evident on the morrow.
May God bless all of you today and in the days ahead, as you remember your son, Gregory Luke Sponberg.

Thinking of you, Nicol, and Summer with Luke's upcoming birthday- praying that God will hold you tightly yet gently in His wings... and cover you with His feathers.

God is using your painful experience to minister to us.... to show us what it means to cling to Him despite circumstances that would, humanly speaking, push us further from Him. Thank you for your example of walking by faith.. not by sight.

Take Care~

Was this truck sitting in Franklin, TN? I made my son wash off all the "peanut butter" he had drove through with my white car this weekend. I'm ready for sunshine!
